Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone!!!

This has been the busiest but the most amazing week! I love being a missionary so much!!

We had 5 new friends join us at church yesterday!! The two other sister missionaries spoke and it was such a great meeting! It focused on God as our loving Heavenly Father and prayer! When it was over, all of them said that they wanted to come next week and that it was exactly what they needed!!

We had lots of service opportunities this week! We worked at a food pantry that was set up like a grocery store! We will definitely be doing a lot more service here in the future! It was awesome to be a part of it! We also worked with a foreign exchange student from Russia! She was so sweet! A lot of people this time of year need help with raking or moving branches to the road to be picked up. We were able to do this a couple times!

I tried Hmong food for the first time! Ying had us over for lunch! She doesn't speak much English and we don't speak Hmong. I wish I did and I hope we can get more Hmong missionaries in our area soon! She is so sweet and goes to church every week even though she doesn't have anyone to translate for her! We were able to have a simple conversation and we got to sing for her! She said that even though she couldn't understand us she still felt the spirit! Music is an amazing way to feel closer to God even without words!

I thought Halloween was going to be sad but there were so many fun activities!

Our ward put on a Trunk or Treat and it was so fun to dress up and pass out candy! On Halloween one of our members had us over for dinner and got us pumpkins to carve! I attempted to carve an owl. It sorta turned out.

We also got taken to our first fish fry! I had never heard of it before we went but they said it is a Wisconsin thing.

Something that I learned about a lot this week is sacrifice. I was really struggling at the beginning of the week because it was the FFA National Convention where I would have gotten my American degree this week. We did a Sister study this week about sacrifice. One of the sisters brought up that the dictionary defined it as giving up something whereas the Bible dictionary talks about giving something to the Lord and he will give you something greater. While it was really hard to give up the national convention, I was able to witness so many miracles this week! I was able to find my purpose as a missionary and I know that it will be worth it!
