I Felt Like A Cat

Image
Hello everyone! We got to start out the week with an amazing district council where we talked about how important it is to have the spirit with us and our district leader made ice cream! They found an old ice cream maker in their apartment and really wanted to use it! I feel like elders find the most interesting things in their apartments. It was more like a very liquidy milkshake but it was pretty good! We didn't have spoons or cups so we used bowls to drink it out of and I felt a little bit like a cat! Our zone leaders had a baptism this week and we got to go to it with Cody so that he could see what it was like! He loved it and is so excited! Bertha was also able to watch it over zoom and she said her husband watched it too! They kept accidentally unmuting themselves but it helped us know that they watched it! We called her after and she kept saying it was interesting. We aren't sure what that means yet but we will hopefully see her this week! We had someone Bible bash us bu...

Jojo With The Yo-Yo

Hi Everyone! I am so sorry if this email is chaotic I didn't have a ton of time to write it This week was amazing! It started off with an unpleasant surprise on our car. We got a ticket. We didn't know you couldn't park on the street in the winter. Whoops! Luckily it wasn't that bad! We then had zone conference and it was so good! Sister Murphy is the most adorable person ever! Her training was about how everyone is needed in this work! She talked about a couple different stories where there was a smaller character but they made a huge difference in the story! The one that stood out to me was when she talked about Horton Hears a Who and how they all had to make noise to be heard! The little kid Jojo with the yo-yo wasn't making noise and when he did they were able to be heard! That explanation probably made no sense, but she talked about how as the one kid did his part they were able to accomplish what needed to be done! We each have a part to do in God's work! ...

The Swap

Hi everyone!  It has definitely been a week but we had some amazing things happen! Sometimes when we text the wrong person, God makes it work! We have two Nates that we are working with. One of them is someone we are teaching and the other one is a new convert. We were supposed to have a lesson with our friend Nate but I accidentally texted the new convert Nate to confirm our lesson. He said he could and then I realized he was the wrong one but it was good because we haven't been able to do a lesson with him for a while! It turns out the other Nate had to cancel so everything worked out! By the end of the lesson I realized that he needed to hear the message we were led to give him and it was one of those moments that helped me know for a fact that God knows exactly what He is doing and that He is leading this work! We also were able to get Theresa to church this week! She is a recent convert that we haven't been able to get to church since I've gotten to Green Bay! We'v...

Talking To Ghosts?

Image
This has been a week of finding people who are able to communicate with ghosts. It has been interesting and a little scary. I'll start with the fun, less scary stuff!  Huge miracle! We have been trying to teach Bertha the Plan of Salvation for a long time but every time we try to teach it to her we aren't able to get to the lesson because she loves to talk! We sat her down and told her how important it was to know what God's plan is for each of us and she listened to the whole thing! It was the best! We were able to dive deeper because she was asking such great questions! At the end it usually takes time for people to think about it and to study it more but she told us she knows that what we said is true! We didn't feel like it was time to put her on baptismal date again but hopefully soon!  We had CDC this week and Sister Lovell and I got to perform at it! We wanted to film it before and to do that we usually open the window to set our phone in it. While we were filmin...

We Did A Count Down Into The New Year...At 10:30

Happy New Year!! What is something that you are most excited for this year?! I am so excited to continue serving the Lord and to meet the people of Wisconsin and in the mission! I've been thinking a lot about the past year and I know that God has a plan for all of us! This time last year I had no clue that I would be going on a mission but God put people and events in my life that lead me to where I am now and I am so thankful!  This week we had lunch at Ying Mouas house again! She is so sweet! This week she brought her cousin over and she wants to meet with the Hmong elders! Also, funny story she always tries to give us as much food and juice as she can. I can't drink juice but none of us can communicate to her why so she always keeps telling me to drink it. We gave up on trying to tell her and whenever she turns around Sister Lovell switches cups with me. She loves juice so it's a win for her too haha. We feel so bad but that the best plan we could come up with and so far...
