Transfers And The Polar Express!

Hello Everyone!  I hope you have had an amazing week!  This was the craziest week!  I got out of training today and I learned yesterday that I will be training a new missionary! I am terrified but everything will end up working out. I am glad that I will be staying in Green Bay! I'll even get to see some of the people I came out to Wisconsin with that are coming to my zone! It is going to be really hard to say goodbye to Sister Skousen and the rest of the district! This week we decided to call someone Sister Skousen talked to before I got here and it was awesome! Her name is Teka and she is the sweetest person ever! She has definitely had a hard life but has been able to find God in the last 6 months! She wants to know how to grow her faith in Jesus Christ so we went over and talked to her about the restoration and the Book of Mormon. At first she didn't want to take one but by the end of the lesson she really wanted one! She had the question of where did we come from and...

Tis The Season

Hello everyone!     It snowed!!!I will probably get sick of the snow at some point but right now it makes me so happy! I don't know why but I am like a little kid when I see snow!     It is definitely starting to feel like Christmas! Snow, Christmas music in the stores, people putting up decorations, and we've started working on Light the World! People can request a Christmas message from us so we've started preparing for it! I am so excited!     We have a new friend we are teaching! I messaged him telling him that I am a missionary and would love to share a message with him. Usually this resulted in a no but he said he would love to hear one! We ended up calling him while he was at work and shared the restoration! He said that he has friends who are members and actually went to their wedding and the San Diego Temple!! He seemed so ready for the gospel and I am excited to continue teaching him!     We also invited our friend Adam to pray about bap...

The Bird Laughed At Me

Image
Hello everyone!      Not a lot happened this week but it was still pretty good! We sang at zone conference and had great lessons with some of our friends! We also got to have a district Pday and we went to a wildlife sanctuary! It was pretty cool! It was mainly birds and there were a couple of people in our district that were afraid of birds so that was entertaining but everyone survived! I also got laughed at by a bird that kinda looked like the evil bird from Rio.     On a more spiritual note, this week I have seen how much prayer gives us strength! I know that your Heavenly Father wants to hear from you so much and I can promise you that prayer will bring you closer to Him! I think one of the neatest experiences is to teach people how to pray and to help them have their first conversation with God!     I love you all and I hope you have a great week!      Sister McGary     Pictures: 1.Posing with the goose statue  2.Mor...

Hello everyone!!!     This has been the busiest but the most amazing week! I love being a missionary so much!!     We had 5 new friends join us at church yesterday!! The two other sister missionaries spoke and it was such a great meeting! It focused on God as our loving Heavenly Father and prayer! When it was over, all of them said that they wanted to come next week and that it was exactly what they needed!!     We had lots of service opportunities this week! We worked at a food pantry that was set up like a grocery store! We will definitely be doing a lot more service here in the future! It was awesome to be a part of it! We also worked with a foreign exchange student from Russia! She was so sweet! A lot of people this time of year need help with raking or moving branches to the road to be picked up. We were able to do this a couple times!     I tried Hmong food for the first time! Ying had us over for lunch! She doesn't speak much English and we...
