Cookies, Crepes, Laser Tag, And Christmas!

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you had a very merry Christmas!!  This week was sooo good!  Holidays are hard being away from home but the members here are so amazing! We had two meals on Christmas Eve and two on Christmas! One family does a Bethlehem dinner every year for Christmas eve and we got to have lamb and homemade Naan! On Christmas we got to join another family tradition by playing laser tag! It was so fun! I might have to invest in getting some of them when I get back! We also got to gather around the piano and sing Christmas hymns and it was so special! We sang a song where it had rounds and one of the elders was so confused about what was happening. We got the opportunity to go to two different churches this week! One we thought it was just a small Bible study but then it ended up being a full service. It is so interesting going to different churches but we got to go with one of our friends and she showed us what she believed! Sadly she dropped us the next day and doesn't ...

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas!! I can't believe it is already the end of December! This was a really good week! Adam, our friend that we passed off to the elders, is going to be put on baptismal date! I was a little worried that with everyone moving around in transfers that he might have got lost but they say that he is doing great! We found a new person this week! I invited a lot of people on Facebook to our big Christmas service and he messaged me asking what it was. We asked if we could share a Christmas message and while sharing the message the Book of Mormon came up and he really wanted one! Sadly he didn't show up to church but we have another lesson with him on Wednesday! One of our new converts that we haven't been able to get in contact with for a while came to church!! I had talked to him a couple of times on the phone but I've never met him in person! It truly was a Christmas miracle! We did a reading of Luke 2 and sang all the Christmas hymns! The spirit w...

Christmas Conference, Birthday, And Lots Of Caroling!

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well and are enjoying the Christmas season! We started our week with our Christmas zone conference! Our mission president and his wife are so sweet! They said we are now part of the Murphy family so we did all of their Christmas traditions! We read the Nativity story, watched Charlie Brown Christmas, had piƱatas, and even got all of our families to send us a package so that we could all open them together! It was such a good conference! It was also my birthday on Saturday and everyone made it so special! The day before I was sent flowers and the person delivering them wouldn't say who they were but kept ringing our door bell. We thought we were going to get murdered so we were pleasantly surprised when it was flowers! We also went to Macs for lunch which is a gourmet Mac and cheese place and it was so good! We met a family there who ended up singing silent night in German. Not quite sure what led us to that moment but I loved it! It was a day fu...

December!

Hello Everyone!  We had transfers Wednesday so it was a day full of driving and goodbyes! We went to Milwaukee to pick up our new trainees!  I really miss Sister Skousen and my district! We all ended up saying goodbye multiple times because we didn't realize we would run into them again on the way to Milwaukee! My new companion is named Sister Lovell and she is so sweet! We also have two more new sisters in our quad and they are so kind as well! They are very energetic!  Highlights of the week:  • Ward mission party! I love our members and they sent us home with tons of food!  •Lunch at Ying Mouas! The Hmong elders were there and she was so happy to be able to talk to them! She wanted a song but I no longer have Sister Skousen to sing with :( •Last week we dropped off a Book of Mormon to someone last week and his roommate answered. We called him this week and he told us that he lost someone really close that morning and that when we came over it really helped! I...
