I Felt Like A Cat
Hello everyone!
We got to start out the week with an amazing district council where we talked about how important it is to have the spirit with us and our district leader made ice cream! They found an old ice cream maker in their apartment and really wanted to use it! I feel like elders find the most interesting things in their apartments. It was more like a very liquidy milkshake but it was pretty good! We didn't have spoons or cups so we used bowls to drink it out of and I felt a little bit like a cat!
Our zone leaders had a baptism this week and we got to go to it with Cody so that he could see what it was like! He loved it and is so excited! Bertha was also able to watch it over zoom and she said her husband watched it too! They kept accidentally unmuting themselves but it helped us know that they watched it! We called her after and she kept saying it was interesting. We aren't sure what that means yet but we will hopefully see her this week!
We had someone Bible bash us but we were able to testify boldly of what we know is true and told him to pray about it before he hung up. It helped me know the importance of the Holy Ghost! He started with asking questions to try to disprove us. I feel like the contention on the phone drove the spirit away and I don't think it has ever been so hard to teach the restoration. I realized how much the spirit helps us teach!
There were so many amazing moments this week!
One of the people who came to church last week wasn't responding to my texts but after a couple days of him not responding he told us he was having a hard time. We called him and got to share more about how Jesus Christ knows exactly what we are feeling. We talked about how Christ can bring comfort and peace! He said he would think about coming to church and he showed up!
Tim, another friend that came to church last week, met with us twice this week! We got to share the restoration and about Joseph Smith with him and he said it made sense! The next time we called him we asked if he could pray and in his prayer he thanked God for sending him His missionaries! He recognized that we are here doing God's work! It was such a tender moment!
Something that I've learned a lot on my mission is how essential family is in God's plan of happiness. One of my favorite things to teach is how people can be with their families forever! I've never seen so much hope in someone than you do when you tell them that everyone will get another chance in the next life to learn about and accept Jesus Christ. This week I was able to promise someone that we've been teaching for a while that the work he does on this earth will not only bless the people here on earth but will help his family who have passed on! That they need him to do their work on earth! We are always told that there are angels round about as missionaries and in that moment I felt that it was true! I think this was one of the most amazing moments that I have been able to have so far!
I know God loves you and is so aware of you!! Let me know if I can pray for you or if anyone you know needs prayers!
I love and miss you all!
