Jojo With The Yo-Yo

Hi Everyone!

I am so sorry if this email is chaotic I didn't have a ton of time to write it

This week was amazing!

It started off with an unpleasant surprise on our car. We got a ticket. We didn't know you couldn't park on the street in the winter. Whoops! Luckily it wasn't that bad!

We then had zone conference and it was so good! Sister Murphy is the most adorable person ever! Her training was about how everyone is needed in this work! She talked about a couple different stories where there was a smaller character but they made a huge difference in the story! The one that stood out to me was when she talked about Horton Hears a Who and how they all had to make noise to be heard! The little kid Jojo with the yo-yo wasn't making noise and when he did they were able to be heard! That explanation probably made no sense, but she talked about how as the one kid did his part they were able to accomplish what needed to be done! We each have a part to do in God's work! 

Another theme in this conference was about change! We talked about things that we could do to become better missionaries and better disciples of Christ! This really inspired me and I started to make small changes to my day that made a big difference! This week I worked harder than I have ever worked before and God blessed us for our efforts! We were able to find 5 new people and 7 people attended church! I know that this probably won't happen every week but as we keep trying our best the work will progress!

A miracle happened with Bertha! We decided to teach her the restoration again to try and help her remember what she felt the first time we invited her to be baptized! We ended up talking about how important it is for her to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and I even teared up a little testifying to her that it will change her life! She knows it is true and I just want what is best for her! She said she would talk to her husband about it and she was able to watch church over zoom this week! 

We also put Cody on baptismal date!! He has been praying about it for a while now and we decided March 13th!! We are so excited for him!!

We got to share a message with the funniest lady from our church and she wouldn't let us leave. We were there for about two hours listening to every single date and boy that she has ever met! It was very entertaining but I was stressed we would miss our next meeting! She seemed so happy to be talking with us! They also fed us bread and cookies which were so good! We also learned that her husband was from Brentwood, CA! Well the one in LA haha.

One of our new friends this week is Tim! He is someone that I have been messaging on facebook and he asked me about missionary work right away and even asked us if he could come to church! It was amazing! He came and said he loved it!

We got to see a couple of miracles from the facebook page this week! The first was Jerry! He had messaged the page about going to church a couple weeks ago but never responded so I decided to message him on my personal account and he came to church!! The other miracle was someone that we talked to this morning! We messaged the page wanting to feel God's love and we sent him a video sharing John 3:16-17. We got to talk about how Jesus Christ will help us through our trials! Sadly he wasn't in our area but the elders will be great for him! Becoming the page admin has definitely helped me appreciate it more and see how it does bring miracles!
