We Did A Count Down Into The New Year...At 10:30
Happy New Year!!
What is something that you are most excited for this year?!
I am so excited to continue serving the Lord and to meet the people of Wisconsin and in the mission!
I've been thinking a lot about the past year and I know that God has a plan for all of us! This time last year I had no clue that I would be going on a mission but God put people and events in my life that lead me to where I am now and I am so thankful!
This week we had lunch at Ying Mouas house again! She is so sweet! This week she brought her cousin over and she wants to meet with the Hmong elders! Also, funny story she always tries to give us as much food and juice as she can. I can't drink juice but none of us can communicate to her why so she always keeps telling me to drink it. We gave up on trying to tell her and whenever she turns around Sister Lovell switches cups with me. She loves juice so it's a win for her too haha. We feel so bad but that the best plan we could come up with and so far it has worked
We also had exchanges this week which were fun! It was weird because usually one of you goes to a different apartment but since our only STL lives in our quad we basically just switched rooms. I got to know Sister Williamson a little more and she is so sweet! We had lots of laughs about the stupidest stuff!
Last week we hadn't been able to get in contact with one of our friends and this week we had a hard call explaining why. He called us and told us that he had a near death experience and he told us that he has no where else to turn but to God at this point. In my time on a mission I have found that a lot of times it takes people being at rock bottom to be able to find God and Jesus Christ. It is hard to watch but it is also the most amazing thing to watch how Christ can heal these people and give them strength to get through anything! Please keep him in your prayers!
We also came in contact with a lady that has lost one of her family members and she thought God was punishing her. We were able to tell her about her loving Heavenly Father and that he wants to help her through this! We get to teach her about God's plan of salvation and what happens to our loved ones after they pass! Being able to teach such a hopeful plan is such a blessing!
I know that God puts us in the right place at the right time! There are no coincidences!
I love you all and I hope you have an amazing first week of the year!
